BloodWood Sword by ChocolateDanish BloodWood Sword by ChocolateDanish
A tribute to my fave character Karsa Orlong from an awesome book series: Malazan Book of the Fallen. This savage tribal warrior originally weilded a massive sword made out of bloodwood. My sword is 52 inches of surprisingly sharp hand crafted oak. I stained it red and black and coated it with shellac.

:D I know, right? Naw, Erikson`s gotta keep writing. Or somebody else will do it for him. That kinda thing just doesn`t stop.

I would take the life of an innocent for a sword like this...

Thats a good rendition of a bloodsword. Karsa's was freakin huge, but I can see you wanted to make something you could actually lift:)

haha, thanks alot. He is one of my alltime fave characters so I wanted to make something worthy of his stature. Yeah I'm just barely able to comfortably wield the sword, it's about five feet long. Maybe I'll make a full sized one some day :P

Shellac is an all natural traditional finish and sealer. It enhances the natural beauty of wood.

Hmm, it looks very noble. But is it really sharp?

I worked hard on the edge, it's as sharp as I could make it. but yeah there is a limit when working with such material. Still, I'm sure it could cut up a few things before getting dull.

Um you'd probably have to be really strong to actually behead someone with it... Though I'd never think of actually doing such a thing. You're sick! Haha, just kidding. :D
